Yakima is an agricultural region of Washington noted for producing some of the best apples in the world, as well as 75% of all the hops produced in the America. Over 50 wineries surround Yakima, including the Eaton Hill and Bookwalter Wineries, both offering tours and tastings. Other sites in the city include the Yakima Electric Railway Museum. It houses parts, tracks, and machinery donated by Union Pacific from the electric railway that stopped passenger service in 1947, and ended all operations in 1985. For those interested in a ride on an electric rail, Yakima Valley Trolleys operates two historic summer routes for visitors along a five mile track between Yakima and nearby Selah.
