The Bottom Line:
The Alamar Resort Inn is a block from the boardwalk and beach and close to the 15th street fishing pier. It is also a mile or so from the Aquarium. The hotel has an outdoor, heated saltwater pool, although some guests found it a little small. It is an older property and some reviewers described the decor in the rooms as dated, although others appreciated its charm. Some rooms are suites with kitchens and all face the pool courtyard. Reviewers do warn that the three story building lacks an elevator. Most guests found the staff willing to accommodate requests, even adding second TVs in the bedroom, and quickly fix problems like missing towels or wash cloths. Some did find the air conditioning hard to control.
