Within miles from Thomas Jefferson’s home, and near both the University of Virginia and Charlottesville’s city center, 200 South Street Inn sports guestrooms equipped with air conditioners, private baths and a uniquely antique décor. While some of the rooms contain whirlpool baths and fireplaces, visitors were thrilled with the Inn’s complimentary breakfasts (including home-baked pastries), free evening wine reception and ample on-site parking (also free of charge). Unrested visitors unknowingly booked rooms facing the railroad tracks, and occasional guests found the in-room furnishings a bit strange.
