The Bottom Line:
While visitors found room’s cleanliness standards satisfactory, Marriott Crystal Gateway’s steep fees dissuaded many. Internet access runs around $13/day, parking an additonal $27/night, and the hotel’s on-site bar and restaurant provided overpriced, underwhelming menu items. Many guests indulged in more moderately priced dining options directly across the hotel’s lobby, within Crystal City Shopping Center. The city’s public metro is a mere five-minute (indoor) walk from the lobby, thus exploring is as convenient as it is cheap. Several visitors raved over the Marriott’s free airport shuttle, as well as professionally friendly hotel staff. Note that while there is an on-site pool, it’s only four-feet deep throughout.
