The Bottom Line:

Directly within Dublin’s city center, The Clarence features in-room amenities such as flat screen televisions, Wi-Fi access and private bars (some suites also sport private balconies). While all highlighted the hotel’s convenient location, guests often found the Clarence overprice and overrated. Visitors were disappointed with dully lit, outdated guestrooms, and found the hotel’s bedding extremely uncomfortable. Guests also complained of the hotel’s thin walls, and specifically advised against booking rooms that face the street. Those who dined on-site found acceptable food, but slow service, and summertime visitors were dismayed by the lack of in-room air conditioners.
