Plano is a rapidly expanding city in northern Texas with a wealthy population and a number of local attractions. The Heritage Farmstead in Plano offers guided and self-guided tours of its grounds; a recreation of life in early 1900s Texas. It includes 12 buildings, including the elegant Victorian home. The Interurban Railway Museum celebrates the Texas Electric Railway which ran through Plano from 1908 until 1948. The museum houses displays, photographs and artifacts from the historic transit system. For an odd bit of Americana, visitors can peruse the Combat Cockroach Hall of Fame Museum. This museum features dead cockroaches dressed as celebrities. Favorites include "Liberoache", posed at a piano, and a talk show host dubbed "David Letterroach."
