Odessa, Texas was founded in 1881 and is home to the Midland-Odessa Symphony and Chorale, the largest orchestral organization in the region. The Globe of the Great Southwest, an authentic replica of the Shakespearean production house used during the playwright's lifetime, hosts plays as well as an annual Shakespeare festival. Odessa is the site for one of the largest high school football stadiums in the country, Ratliff Stadium, featured in the film version of "Friday Night Nights". The Presidential Museum and Leadership Library is a museum dedicated to the office of the presidency and reopened its doors in 2010 after forced to close because of financial hardships in August of 2009. Just south of the city is the Odessa Meteor Crater, an impact crater 550 feet in diameter.
