New Braunfels is a resort area in Texas known for stunning rivers and its proximity to San Antonio. Outdoor adventurists will love the Comal and Guadalupe Rivers, both of which offer tubing and other water sports. Tube rentals are available downtown and there are a number of shuttles available to transport people to various access points. Comal River in particular offers great hiking, as Landa Park sits alongside the river with numerous trails and playgrounds for children.
