Humble is located in east Texas in the United States, just outside of Houston. The town was founded in the early 1800s by settlers attracted by the large amount of timber. Oil was discovered in the early 1900’s and Humble became a boom town. Today the oil fields are still active but the boom is over, so many residents work in nearby Houston. Visitors can tour the Humble Historical Museum, which houses old farming tools and oil field equipment. The Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center features programs about the lives of local Indian tribes and early settlers, while the Mercer Arboretum & Botanic Gardens showcases native plants and walking trails. Other attractions include the Humble Gatti Town Amusement Center and the Clutch City Cycle Park, a motocross facility. Visitors looking for additional entertainment can easily travel to nearby Houston.
