As the largest city in Texas and the fourth-largest in the United States, Houston offers a huge number of exciting activities and attractions for visitors to the city. As the epicenter of the country’s space industry, Houston draws a huge number of visitors to the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center. Those traveling with children enjoy visiting the nearby Hermann Park, which is home to dozens of attractions, including the Houston Zoo. The zoo is located on 55 acres of land and houses over 6,000 animals including exotic species such as gorillas, Asian elephants and meerkats. The Herbert A. & Elizabeth N. Kipp Memorial Aquarium is also located within the zoo's confines and displays more than 1,000 marine animals. There is also a children’s petting zoo, where kids can interact with domestic animals such as goats and sheep.
