Bangkok: Hotels with Balcony
As both the capital and most populous city in Thailand, Bangkok offers a wealth of exotic attractions for those on vacation. Similar to Venice, the city of Bangkok is cut-through with numerous canals, allowing visitors to tour large parts of the city by boat and even visit markets that exist entirely on the water. The city’s two primary historical attractions are the Buddhist temples, Wat Arun and Wat Pho. Wat Arun is the more spectacular of the two and is recognized as the most photographed landmark in the city, while Wat Pho is considered to be the birthplace of the art of Thai Massage. Wat Pho, sometimes called the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, is also known for housing the largest statue of the Buddha in existence. Those interested in exploring the artistic legacy of Bangkok often visit the National Gallery of Thailand, which houses a sprawling collection that focuses primarily on artists of Thai descent. Those traveling with children or who simply want a break from Bangkok’s legendary crowds often spend a day at Lumphini Park. Known as Bangkok’s answer to New York’s Central Park, its sprawling green space is dotted with numerous gardens, lakes and sports fields. Chatuchak and Rama IX Parks are also popular destinations for those looking to spend their time relaxing outdoors.
