Best Hotels in Bangkok
The first stop on any vacation to Bangkok should be the Grand Palace, a sprawling complex of buildings that began construction in the late eighteenth century and has housed the Kings of Thailand ever since. Nearby the Grand Palace is Wat Pho, a Buddhist temple that features over a thousand images of the Buddha, including one of the largest in the world, the Reclining Buddha. Another significant Buddhist temple in Bangkok is Wat Arun or -Temple of the Dawn. One of Thailands most well-known landmarks, it is easily recognized by its massive tower that rises almost three hundred feet above the city. Bangkok is also known for its many festivals, the most notable of which are the Bangkok Songkran Festival in April, the Queen's Birthday Celebration in August and the King's Birthday Celebration in December.
