Madrid: Hotels with Balcony

As the capital and largest city in Spain, Madrid offers numerous exciting activities and attractions for those who choose to vacation there. One of Europe’s most cultured cities, Madrid draws many visitors who come especially to see the city’s wide array of museums. A first stop for many is the Golden Triangle of Art. There visitors will find the Prado, Thyssen Bornemisza and Reina Sofia Museums. The Prado is the most famous of the three and features a spectacular collection that focuses on Spanish artists and includes paintings by El Greco, Goya and Caravaggio. At the Thyssen Bornemisza, visitors will find works by many Dutch, German and English artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Edward Hopper and Claude Monet. The Reina Sofia concentrates on featuring works of the 20th century, focusing on painters such as Picasso and Dali. The Reina Sofia’s central attraction is Picasso’s masterpiece, Guernica. Convenient to the Golden Triange of Art is the towering church, St. Jerome’s. Built at the turn of the sixteenth century, it was once the home of the Hieronymous monastery as well as the personal church of Spain’s royal family. Travelers seeking an authentic Spanish bullfighting experience visit the Las Ventas bullring.  Seating over 25,000, it is considered to be the world capital of bullfighting and features fights every Sunday.
