With guestrooms fashioned from historic classrooms (equipped with chalkboards and cloakrooms), the McMenamins Kennedy School Hotel offers guests an on-site restaurant, on-site movie theatre (free for guests), downstairs brewery and heated swimming pool. Guests appreciated the hotel’s pet friendly policy, as well as its easy commute from Portland International Airport (mere minutes by car). While visitors loved the interior décor (featured works of local artists), many complained over the hotel’s lack of in-room televisions, coffee makers and mini-fridges. Also noted was the building’s lack of sound insulation, as noisy bar frequenters often kept guests awake.
