Sandusky, a small Ohio town located on Lake Erie, packs many thrills for visitors. The city is best known for Cedar Point Amusement Park, which boasts some of the tallest and fastest rides in the world. The park also includes tamer rides for faint-hearted visitors and a water park good for cooling off on warmer days. Outside of the park, travelers can take advantage of the lake. The Cold Creek Trout Camp, one of the best fishing spots in the northern Ohio, is home to many species of fish and, due to warm water temperature, fishing is possible year-round. Sandusky also serves as a wonderful place to island hop. Marblehead Island has a historic lighthouse that provides great views of the mainland. For the history buff, a Civil War Cemetery located on nearby Johnson Island is must-see.
