The Strand Hotel is in the Garment District, next door to Penn Station and an easy walk to Central Park. Nearby restaurants include Frankie & Johnny's. Rooms are on the small side and some reviewers complained about a lack of counter space in the bathroom. However, they loved the comfortable beds with fine linens and soft pillows. Also praised was the rooftop bar with great views of the Empire State Building, which were shared by some rooms. The most common criticism was noisy heating and air conditioning units. Service was warm and friendly and the staff were knowledgeable about local restaurants.
