New York City: Hotels with Kitchenette
New York City is not only the top tourist destination in the United States, it is one of the premier vacation spots in the entire world. Many visitors begin their trip by taking the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. A gift from France in 1886, the statue has become one of the world’s most enduring symbols of freedom. Those wishing to climb the steps to the top of the statue must obtain a special ticket prior to arriving since the statue is not completely open to the public. Those interested in exploring New York City’s thriving arts community will find dozens of museums in the city’s five boroughs. Two of the more popular are the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan and the Museum of Modern Art in Queens. Combined, the two feature works by legendary artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol. Theater lovers flock to the city’s Broadway Theater District to enjoy some of the most heralded plays in the world. It is conveniently located near another of the city’s favorite attractions, Times Square, which welcomes millions of visitors to its street every New Year’s Eve. Visitors who are simply interested in enjoying a relaxing day head to Central Park, where they can do everything from picnicking on the Great Lawn to skating at Wollman’s Rink to visiting the famed Central Park Zoo.
