Best Hotels in Lake Placid

Lake Placid in upstate New York is probably best known as the site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. The town is used by many tourists as a base camp to the surrounding winter activity spots in the Adirondacks. Nearby Whiteface Mountain has skiing, mountain biking and hiking facilities. The area has world class facilities for all the major winter competitions, as well, befitting an Olympic spot. In addition, Lake Placid has more golf courses than any other region in the Adirondacks. The Whiteface Club and Resort golf facility is a 6,450 yards, par 72 course and was designed by the famed golf course designer John Van Kleek.
