Most Recent Bed Bug Reports:
“I stayed at Southpoint from Monday Aug. 8 to Wednesday Aug 10. It was on the last morning as I was dressing that I noticed the clustered bites and itching on my waist. I was annoyed with it but tried to ignore the itch and went to eat breakfast. I checked out at noon and didn't mention anything at the time to management.
When I returned home the bumps had increased in size and the itch was incessant. I decided to google 'hotel rash'. I had heard of bedbugs and vaguely knew there was some kind of problem with them but it was at that time that I really became aware of what had happened to me. For the first time I really paid attention to the bed bug issue and reviewed photos of what the bites look like. Since as far as I can remember I never had such persistent long lasting bites (which are still healing even today Aug. 20 and intermittently itchy), I realized that I must have had bed bug bites.
The hotel sent a survey which I returned the same day as the post I made on this website. In that survey, I noted my room number and the issue of the bed bugs. I never heard back from management. ”

The Bottom Line:
The South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa is praised by guests for the size and cleanliness of the rooms. However, the location is far from the Strip and the shuttle bus is not always reliable and does not run late enough, with some guests complaining that with a rental car it took a good fifteen minutes. The only nearby attraction is the Bass Pro Shop. Rooms did have large plasma TVs with cable and spacious bathrooms with two sinks. Guests loved the modern decor, large beds and secure room safes.
