Most Recent Bed Bug Reports:
“We stayed in room 30-229 (30th floor, room 229) for 2 nights (august 20th & 21st). I woke up morning of 21st and saw curious rust colored marks on my bedsheet. I thought it was a stain, but didn't think too much of it bc it was small. Then I saw a small red bug. It was moving slow, so I google-imaged "bed bug" and it looked identitcal to several of the photos. I tried to grab it w/paper to save it for evidence, but ended up crushing it on the white sheet, the bug burst red blood on the sheet. I called guest services and the concierge person did not sound even the least bit surprised and transfered me to management. They moved us into another room and gave us this speil ab how they take it very seriously and call in professionals to check out the entire room, etc. etc. Later I received a call back saying "good news! Results came back negative." Which I knew they were going to say. They comped us $120 for restaurant for the inconvenience of moving rooms...but I know in my heart it was a bed bug I saw! We are heading home and will be taking precautions when arriving back home (stripping down in back yard/leaving our luggage outside), throwing away luggage, etc. My friend who works in hotel industry says this is very common, even in nicer hotels. So far I have not found any bites on my or husbands body. YIKES.”
“Found live bed bug crawling around the bed when I went to fix the sheets. Notified management who moved us at once to a different room and sent out all of our laundry- even the clean stuff- to be cleaned. Management was very aggressive in dealing with this issue which helped ease the disgust somewhat. We did not suffer any bites even though we didnt find the bug until after the 4th night we had been in that room.”

The Bottom Line:
Centrally located on the Las Vegas Strip, the Monte Carlo Resort prides itself on being unpretentiously luxurious. While most visitors rate the rooms as merely adequate, they rave about the Monte Carlo’s expansive pool area. Featuring a lazy river and a wave pool, it is typically quite crowded. Some guests complain about the noise from the pool area, but most rate their experiences quite positively. Visitors who prefer more luxurious accommodations choose the top floor of the Monte Carlo, known as Hotel32. Its suites are significantly larger than the standard room and feature cutting edge technology such as televisions that are integrated into bathroom mirrors. The Monte Carlo’s Street of Dreams shopping district is also widely praised, as is the resort’s signature bar, Minus5, the largest ice bar in North America.
