“I woke up about 6:30 a.m., opened the curtins, went to fluff my pillows and lay down for another hour and beside me was a small little bug. It was dead, so I collected it in a cup, called the front desk to complain and they asked me if I wanted to file a report and I said no. The room was comped so what sort of compensation could they offer me anyway. Needless to say that after all the years I have been staying at the Tropicana, I won't be ever again. The hotel rooms are filthy and rundown. The halls smell, low life argue drunk outside in the halls at night, it's awful! The managementcould careless!
I left the dead bedbug in a cup near the TV with a nasty note, not that the cleaning crew could read it anyway!
Get your act together Tropicana or you will be catering to the lowest forms of life on earth! BedBugs! ”

“I RESERVED THIS ROOM FROM THE 16-19 BUT ON THE 1ST DAY I GOT BIT I THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT. THE 2ND DAY IT WAS WORST SO I WENT TO THE MANAGER BECAUSE MY BROTHER GOT BIT BY BED BUGS ALL OVER. THE MANAGER MOVED US TO ANOTHER ROOM ON THE NORTH TOWER 638 ON THE SECOND DAY IN THAT ROOM I GOT BIT BY BED BUGS AND I WENT TO THE MANAGER AGAIN. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED AND DISCUSTED AT THE FACT I WENT THERE FOR VACATION WITH MY BROTHER TO GET BIT AND HAVE A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT THE TROPICANA HOTEL. I BELIEVE THIS HOTEL IS INFESTED WITH BED BUGS BECAUSE IN A MATTER OF DAYS IN TWO DIFFERENT ROOMS WE BOTH GOT BIT BY BED BUGS. I DONT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL. THANK YOU”

“It was my first time in a.c i booked the room through orbitz...when i first arrived i was told without prior warning about a 50 dollar a night charge for hold..i refused the charge and the mananger allowed me to stay anyway.they gave me a room in the north tower and i made a joke to my husband saying"imagine they put us in a dirty room with bedbugs".when i walk into my room i was literally there 2 mins when i saw a bedbug on the wall in broad daylight!!Bedbugs usually come out at night so i knew they had a serious problem if we saw it the min we got there at 2 oclock in the afternoon...security came and confirmed it to be a bedbug, and move us to the south tower,thank god i came prepared with bedbug spray i sprayed all over the room i couldnt sleep at night cause i was parinoid!i called claims a few days later asking if i least i could get a comp diner but e didnt care he was very rude and toldme this is america bedbugs are everywhere.when we came back to ny we went straight to the laundrymat and washed everything.it was horrible!!!”

“I stayed at the trop last week because the people who work in the casino are so pleasant.

I previously stayed in the west tower (outdated and sort of dirty) so I decided to spring a few extra dollars for an updated room. MY MISTAKE.

I spent the night gambling with my boyfriends and we passed out as soon as we returned to the room. The next morning we saw two small bugs and called downstairs. Security came up and filed a report. They said I had to get my bites checked out before I could move further.

As soon as I got home I called back at the hotel to make sure if it was bed bugs they would also reimburse me my stay. Finally after a few calls I reached a man at the claims center. He seemed as if it were no big deal, as if this happens a lot.

I do have bed bug bites and I am still battling reaching a human at the claims center to at least get my money back.

NEVER AGAIN. Horrible experience and they have been handling the situation quite poorly. ”

“Woke up with bumps itching as the day went on they got worse so I deceided to check the bed and found little black things in the mattress. They didn't seem to care much just moved up to another room like they didnt believe us. And to add to it they sent us to a smoking room I have trouble breathing when I am around the smell of smoke but they didn't care about that either.”

“When I went I really didn't notice anything that weekend. A week later I noticed I was getting bit so I googled what it might be and thought it was bedbugs. After an exterminater confirmed that I had bedbugs, I immediately called the Trop and asked for the G.M. They transferred me security, and after getting the run around I just hung up. It has cost me 1900.00 for the exterminator, 1500.00 for a new mattress and my washing machine broke after all the usage, another 1500. This was an exensive weekend for sure.”
