The Sun Palace is one of the most popular hotels in Cancun. Unlike many of the sprawling resorts in the city, the Sun Palace is considerably more intimate. Guests find the rooms to be large and immaculately clean, but some recommend staying on the concierge level for even better accommodations. Guests also rave about the facilities inside the hotel, particularly the Oriental lounge and lobby bar. Though the in-house Italian restaurant only receives mediocre reviews, room service is considered to be superb and responsive. The pool area receives strong reviews as well, with guests pointing to pool volleyball and the swim-up bar as top attractions.
