“Woke up with red welts on my back. They were smaller on my son and on his legs. My wife only got bit on her feet. The sheets had dried blood on them. We right away packed our stuff and left. Front desk claimed we must have got poison Ivy. Left message for manager and received no phone call. They did credit us back for second night that we didn't use. the girl at the front didn't blink an eye when we said we suspected bed bugs. We never had them before. Nor since. We washed all clothes and left bags out in shed. My wife took Hunter to his pediatrician who confirmed insect bites with reaction suggesting bed bugs. The Dr. said it would go away in 10-14 days. I will not return. Just not clean. Overall the place was dirty and the air seemed stale. Poor ventilation I guess. The place is like 50 years old and it shows.”

The Bottom Line:
The Princess Royale Resort is on the beach, but a good distance from the main boardwalk and rides. The attached Schooner's restaurant was complimented by guests. Rooms have Tempurpedic beds, which were much appreciated, and the suites have full kitchens and large dining tables, with dishwashers. Many reviewers arrived to dirty rooms, and others complained that there was a coffee maker but no coffee and the kitchens did not have utensils. There are televisions in both the living room and the bedroom. Guests liked the indoor pool.
