The Bottom Line:
The Royal Sonesta Hotel is right on Bourbon Street. Guests recommend the Desire Oyster Bar in the lobby, with other nearby options including Acme Seafood and Johnny's Po' Boys. Guests loved the beds, with their down comforters. Rooms right on Bourbon Street tend to be noisy. Rooms also have huge televisions There are no coffee makers in the rooms, but PJ's Coffee off the lobby comes highly recommended. The lobby also contains Irvin Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse, with no cover charge and only a one drink minimum. The hotel does not include breakfast and wireless is an extra fee. Reviewers liked the heated pool. Service was highly complimented and guests loved the concierge, who was knowledgeable and handy in an emergency.
