The Bottom Line:
The JW Marriott Hotel New Orleans is on Canal Street, a few blocks from Bourbon Street. It is only a block from the edge of the French Quarter, and surrounded by restaurants including Shula's Steakhouse. Rooms are clean and guests loved the down pillows and comforters. Some guests found the rooms small, especially the bathrooms, and the decor somewhat dated (1980s style). Reviewers warn that the mini-bar fridges are not designed to actually keep food at full 'fridge' cold, although better refrigerators can be had on request. Service was excellent, with special requests fulfilled quickly and cheerfully. The hotel has a rooftop pool, but guests found both pool and deck cramped and the pool shaded for much of the day.
