The Bottom Line:
The Hotel de la Monnaie is on the Esplanade, across the street from the Old Mint. It is an easy walk to the French Market and close to the Cafe Du Monde. Guests found the decor in the rooms dated with old furniture and the beds hard. However, they liked the well equipped and stocked kitchenettes. Guests also enjoyed the patio areas and the hotel has a pool, although it is only open during the summer months. Internet is free, as is parking. Service received mixed reviews, but mostly positive, with the concierge knowledgable about area restaurants.
