The Avenue Garden Hotel is on St. Charles Avenue in the quiet Garden District. There are numerous restaurants nearby including the St. Charles Tavern, recommended for breakfast and the VooDoo BBQ next door. The hotel is a converted residence and many guests found the rooms too small. Rooms do not have refrigerators, but there is one in the lobby. Some rooms have rain shower heads and mirrors over the beds. The hotel has a second floor balcony that is also a common area. The hotel offers a light continental breakfast that includes such things as muffins and bagels with cream cheese. Service was strong complimented, with staff going out of their way to help people find restaurants.
