Venice: Hotels with Balcony
Widely considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in all of Europe, Venice is home to many of Italy’s most popular attractions. Many visitors begin their vacation with a gondola ride along Venice’s historic Grand Canal. The city’s main waterway, the Grand Canal, is lined with dozens of exquisite buildings such as the Palazzi Barbaro and the Santa Maria della Salute. After a gondola ride, many then make their way to the city’s main square, the Piazza San Marco. It can easily be found by looking for St. Mark’s Campanile, a bell tower that rises to an imposing height of almost 325 feet. Steps away from the tower is St. Mark’s Basilica, the seat of the Archdiocese. Completed in the early 17th century, its most recognizable attractions are the statues, the Horses of Saint Mark and the Tetrarchs. Next door to St. Mark’s Basilica is the sprawling Doge’s Palace. Once the home of Venice’s rulers, it is now a museum that features works by notable Venetian artists such as Paolo Veronese and Tintoretto. The Palazzo Ducale is also only a short walk away. A masterpiece of Gothic architecture, it houses an even more spectacular art collection, including works by Titian and Tiepolo.
