The Bottom Line:

Quietly overlooking Rio di San Stae, Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo situates Venice travelers near attractions such as San Stae Church and Rialto Bridge. Visitors were thrilled with guestrooms sporting traditional Venetian furnishings (such as chandeliers and elegant bedding), and those who ‘upgraded’ relished in canopy beds, hydro-massage baths and private terraces (with views of Rio di San Stae). Further highlights included the hotel’s public courtyard (wherein breakfasts and nightcaps are served), as well as on-site Turkish bath and complimentary Wi-Fi. Note that while the hotel does offer water taxis to and from the airport (around 100 euros each way), guests found the city’s public waterbuses affordably adequate (a bus stop sits just outside the Al Ponte).
