Guests can view a functioning lighthouse by stopping at the East Pierhead Lighthouse, which sits at the very end of a jetty that shelters the city’s harbor. Those who would like to set off on an underground adventure can retreat to the South to find some of the state’s most famous caves. Indiana’s ‘Cave County’ offers three main caverns to pique the spelunker’s curiosity. Guests can ride in a tour boat along a subterranean river while they tour the Bluespring Caverns, or take a walking tour through Marango Cave’s spectacular Crystal Palace and Dripstone Trail. Visitors can enjoy spectacular underground waterfalls and learn more about the underground ecosystem at Squire Boone Caverns.
