The Bank of America Theatre is just one of Chicago, Illinois’s several historic theaters. Originally opened in 1906 as The Majestic Theatre, the venue was Chicago’s tallest and most expensive building at the time. In its early years The Majestic hosted some of history’s most memorable entertainers such as Harry Houdini and Lily Langtry before becoming a victim of the Great Depression. The theater was shut down for as theater-goers held their pocket books closely. Since its reopening 1945, the Bank of America Theatre has hosted a variety of world-famous musicians and entertainers. Situated in downtown Chicago within one block of The Loop and Millennium Park, the Bank of America Theatre’s location is an excellent starting point for touring the city.
