Idaho Vacations
This strangely-shaped state is located between the Rocky Mountains and the Pacific Northwest, making it an outdoor enthusiast’s dream. Believe it or not, there is more to see in Idaho than fields of potato farms; the state has a higher concentration of lakes than anywhere else in the United States, boasts an abundance of national forests and wilderness areas, and even sports one of the nation’s deepest gorges. The area that is on temporarily known by Idaho was home to the Shoshone and Bannock people until a fateful moment in 1860 when miners discovered gold in Pierce. After the discovery of gold, miners flocked to the mountains of Idaho, discovering lead and silver as well. Idaho joined the Union in 1890 and fell subject to homesteaders and settlers. Today tourism is one of Idaho’s top industries, and the state attracts thrill-seekers and skiers alike with its pristine wilderness.
