Visiting U.S. zoos on a vacation

When traveling on vacation, the most important thing to do is diversify your activities. Going to one amusement park or one beach everyday can get kind of stale, especially if your vacation is upwards of a week or two weeks long. Whether you're on vacation with your family that includes young children, or if it's just you and your spouse or even friends, one of the fun filled days on a vacation can be a trip to the local zoo.

The world we live in is filled with incredible animals. We don't get to see them everyday due to where we live. Zoos bring all these amazing creatures from all over the globe to one location. If you happen to be visiting the New York City area, a must see stop on your trip is the Bronx Zoo. It's known as one of the top zoos in the country and has award-winning cutting edge exhibits with superior viewing. The zoo also boasts a diverse array of over four thousand animals on its grounds.

If you're visiting the southern California area, the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Wild Animal Park are must see stops. The San Diego Zoo is the most famous zoo in America, and one of the most famous in the world. Every exhibit is designed to recreate a particular habitat, and this zoo has one of the largest arrays of animals in the world.

Other animal exhibits, like Disney's Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida offer a different experience. At this park they offer a journey called the Kilimanjaro Safari. Basically you go through a recreated African landscape on an off road vehicle with a trained guide. The animals are all trained and non threatening and roam free in this artificial world.

Anyone taking a trip to one of the many cities that offer such incredible exhibits should make it a point to visit them. How many times in your life are you going to see majestic lions walking around twenty feet away from you? How about gorillas or monkeys climbing on trees above your head?

These are things everyone should experience to make you truly appreciate the beauty of the world around us. Life doesn't just revolve around your day job and your vacation days, there's an incredible world out there to be seen.
