Visiting Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon is more than just a name. This national park will take your breath away. In fact, while on my honeymoon, I went to both Bryce National Park and the Grand Canyon and I actually found Bryce more beautiful and more breathtaking than the Grand Canyon.

Is it the forests of stone? Is it the pink bridges? Is it the rows of serrated peaks that remind one of upturned faces, staring wordless and sightless at the heavens? Maybe it is all of these and more.

But when the sun from a long, lingering Utah sunset hits the peaks, and colors explode around you such that they confound the senses, amidst the pink, the glow of cool orange and salmon colors, the striations in the rock, and the absolute drop dead gorgeous beauty of this under-rated and less known national park, you will know why you came here.

There is an energy, even an aura about the place. A feeling of timelessness that tingle the scalp, and dances on the back of your neck. Bryce Canyon got its name from Ebenezer and Mary Bryce in the late 1800's when Ebenezer carved a seven mile long road to reach the amphitheater. And it is not so much a canyon as an unforgettable experience. A few hours in this ancient and timeless place of stone monuments and you get a sense of peace and serenity, a feeling of oneness with the awe-inspiring bands of ageless color.

Make sure you visit Bryce Canyon if you can. It is an experience that will last you a lifetime.
