Rome, Georgia is far different from its counterpart in Italy. However it is still a great place for a family to spend a holiday. Berry College is a great spot to spend a day. The college is full of old buildings as well as historical points of interest. However, the college also has a wonderful series of hiking, walking and biking trails to enjoy. In addition to this, the college operates a working dairy that welcomes visitors and sells freshly made milk and cheese. The main street in Rome is Broad street and it contains several places of interest for a variety of tastes. There are several turn-of-the century store fronts that offer a sense of charm and antiquity. On Broad Street are several shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants in which to explore. Along side the street is a park with slides, swings and a separate water-park for children. Finally there catching a game at the baseball stadium. It was opened for the local minor league team that supports the Atlanta Braves. Games are held frequently through the summer with very reasonable ticket prices.
