“We stayed at the Quality Inn Northlake during the fourth of July weekend. When we walked in the room the carpet was wet, but I figured they just had a pet in there and it was cleaning up from that pet. The morning of our second night I woke up and thought it was odd there was a blood smear on the sheet considering I had no open cuts. I chalked it up to the fact that I sometimes get a bloody nose. I was getting bites but they felt like fleas so I thought nothing of it because they felt like flea bites and I figured with a pet room there would be fleas. So we came home. Recently we discovered that we have bedbugs. That is the only place we have stayed within the last year other than our own home and we had such a mild bedbug infestation that it couldn't have been earlier. We contacted the hotel after wards just to tell them that they should check their room, especially the one we stayed in, and they told us that it isn't possible for them to have bedbugs because they are and I quote "a gold-star hotel" To make a long story short we have spent $600.00 on an exterminator and had to throw away all of our beds and all of the furniture in my son's room so I am sure that will be an extra 2 thousand or so in cost. ”
