The Doubletree Hotel Atlanta NE - Northlake is very close to Northlake Mall and about 20 to 30 minutes drive from downtown Atlanta. Reviewers warn that unlike most Doubletrees, there are only three suites in this hotel. However, the standard rooms are spacious with pillowtop mattresses, nice LCD televisions and free wireless. Rooms do not have microwaves and refrigerators standard, but they are provided on request. Bathrooms are small, but have marble countertops. Prior guests recommend the Firecracker Shrimp in the Marlowe's restaurant in the hotel. They love the chocolate chip cookies and mention this hotel as a great home base for Falcons games. Rooms on the pool side of the hotel are recommended due to freeway noise. Service was attentive.
