Directly situated along the Gulf of Mexico (connected to endless beaches through a forest-lined boardwalk), the Ritz-Carlton Naples sits within miles of Old Naples and Waterside Shops. With rooms sporting private balconies (some with seaside views), marble-countered bathrooms and goose-down bedding, the resort brags of numerous pools, tennis courts and an on-site spa. A daily breakfast buffet is available, though guests mentioned its steep price ($27/person) for the offered selection. Also incurring additional fees is Internet, as neither dial-up nor Wi-Fi is complimentary. Other complaints concerned the resort’s dire need for refurnishing, spotty pool-side service, and ridiculously overpriced beach umbrella rentals ($25 a piece).
