The Bottom Line:
The Sofitel Miami is close to the airport and about a twenty minute drive from South Beach. Rooms are large, and some have views of the lagoon. Guests loved the beds, which had pillow top mattresses and fluffy pillows. A number, however, found their rooms dirty and the soundproofing not sufficient to deal with airport noise. Rooms have flat screen televisions but no internet access. The hotel restaurant comes highly recommended, although it is expensive. There is a lobby bar and also a Starbuck's with computers available. Guests appreciated the reliable airport shuttle with friendly drivers. Staff were stylish, friendly, and knowledgeable about area restaurants.
