Just steps away from Jacksonville Landing is the city’s Riverwalk. Stretching for just over a mile, the Riverwalk snakes along the water, passing city landmarks such as the Friendship Park River Fountain and the Jacksonville Maritime Museum. Those interested in a more cultural experience typically head to the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens. Established in 1961, the museum has one of the largest collections of Meissen porcelain in the world. A member of the National Register of Historic Places, the museum holds 6,000 works of art in its permanent collection. Visitors looking to see a movie should certainly do so at the Florida Theater. Built during the 1920s, this architecturally significant theater is a member of the National Register of Historic Places as well and still maintains an active screening schedule.
