The Bottom Line:
Stretched along Florida’s oceanfront, Marriott Hollywood Beach sits within walking distance to Hollywood’s three-mile Broadwalk (stocked with innumerable dining/shopping options), and just six miles from Fort Lauderdale International Airport. Guests were thrilled with the in-room flat-screen televisions, mini-bars, Wi-Fi access and balconies (some sporting costal views). While the Marriott sports a beachside café/bar, as well as rental facilities for seaside lounging/water sports, guests found prices a bit steep, and the service friendly, yet a bit slow. Other complaints concerned the actual size of the guestrooms (incredibly small), and ‘balconies’ so meager, guests rarely utilized them. Note that parking runs around $20/day, and that visitors familiar with ‘Marriot standards’ found Hollywood Beach to be overall sub-par.
