Fort Walton Beach is a year-round fishing and beach community located on the panhandle of Florida. Attractions in the city include the Emerald Coast Science Center, a hands-on museum geared to stimulating the imagination. Exhibits include a large bubble maker, an exhibit called the "Castle of Mirrors," and a Van de Graaff generator, which produces static electricity. The boardwalk in Fort Walton is the location of many of the city's clubs and restaurants and the crowds include a lot of military personnel. Fort Walton is the site of two Air Force bases, Hurlburt Field and Eglin AFB, the largest air force base in the world. The Air Force Armament Museum is outside the gate of Eglin and features a number of aircraft exhibits, including an SR-71 spy plane.
