“The place is rustic and not immaculate, but we are OK with that. Soon after getting into bed, I felt itchy and uncomfortable.
When I awoke in the morning, my wife noticed blood spots on my pillow and on the bed. As we were leaving, I flipped the pillow over and discovered a live bedbug nymph ... fully engorged with my blood!
I put it in a ziploc bag and, being an amateur entomologist, took it home to discover I had a 4th instar nymph bed bug.
I called the hotel and they said that I could have brought it in my own luggage. It's surely more plausible that it came from my family and our uninfested house than from their Inn room that he admitted had an infestation in the recent past (sarcasm).
I requested a room refund and that, more importantly, management take steps to rectify the situation. They doubted my claims and, despite the fact that I sent the pictures and described the scene, thus far have refused any action.”
