A great family place to visit is old Montreal. It is beautifully preserved and retains its European charm. The area is full of outdoor cafes, shops and old cobblestone streets. The beach and the port of Montreal are also within walking distance. The Notre-Dame Basilica is the city's oldest and largest church. The interior of the church is very intricate with beautiful stained glass windows telling the history of Montreal. Mont Royal offers some of the best views of the city. It is the mountain for which the city is named. It is 764 feet tall and easily climbed by a long staircase. At the top there are viewing point and plenty of food and drink vendors.
