Marriott’s Timber Lodge is situated in the business district of South Lake Tahoe, within close proximity to Zephyr Cove Beach and the Heavenly Ski Resort. The hotel is also part of the Heavenly Village, a complex that includes a grocery store, casino, and numerous retail shops. Guests loved the private beach access and multiple on-site hot tubs, but noted that the common areas were typically loud and overcrowded during ski season. Accommodations are condo-style and incredibly spacious, with flat screen televisions, fireplaces, and separate bedrooms. Note that the hotel only offers an expensive valet parking service. An outdoor swimming pool and complimentary newspapers are also available.
