Every August is the Fiesta, formally known as the Old Spanish Days, in which parties and parades are held all throughout Santa Barbara. One of its most well known attractions is the Flower Girls, which announces the start of the Fiesta and girls ages 13 and below give out flowers to the crowds. Just a few blocks from the beach is the Santa Barbara Zoo, a must for families as there are lots of local and foreign animals, babies and a train that goes around the zoo.
