Oceanside is a resort destination on the coast of California with six miles of beaches. Oceanside is a mecca for surfers. The California Surf Museum in the city features exhibits of vintage surfboards from the early 1900s to those of today and attracts an estimated 20,000 visitors a year. The Oceanside Pier, dating from the 19th century, is the longest wooden pier on the west coast and is a popular place to view the coastline or steal a view of the sunset. Oceanside has six public golf course including the Oceanside Municipal Course and the Center City Golf Course.
