Stretched along downtown Long Beach, with architecture reminiscent of the early 1900’s, The Varden Hotel places guests within walking distance of attractions such as the Port of Long Beach, Pine Avenue shops, the Aquarium of the Pacific and the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center. Guestrooms are decked out with free Wi-Fi access, high ceilings, flat screen televisions, as well as pillowtop mattresses. Visitors highlighted the Varden’s personal touches, such as mosaic-clad bathroom décor, as well as complimentary evening receptions (featuring free wine and snacks in the lobby). While free daily breakfasts were also appreciated, note that dissatisfied guests often hinted at the guestroom’s cramped living quarters.
