Lake Havasu City in Arizona is probably most noted as the site of the rebuilt London Bridge which leads from Lake Havasu to Thompson Bay. In 1968, the original London Bridge was replaced and bought for $2.5 million. It was then shipped to Lake Havasu City and reassembled, opening in 1971. The bridge trails only the Grand Canyon as the top tourist destination in Arizona. Lake Havasu State Park offers nature trails, a swimming beach and boat facilities. Visitors to Lake Havasu City can book a Bluewater Jet Boat Tour which travels the Colorado River to the Topock Gorge. The Havasu Museum of Natural History documents the history of Lake Havasu City from the ancient natives, to the Hispanic settlers, to today's tourists. For young adults, Lake Havasu City is a popular spring break destination in the summer and has twice been featured on MTV's spring break coverage.
