To view some of the region's most exotic wildlife in its natural habitat, a trip to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is in order. It is the world's first and largest sanctuary dedicated to sheltering these gentle marsupials, and also houses a variety of other rare breeds native to Australia including dingoes, Tasmanian devils, duckbilled platypus, wombats and echidnas.
